How to choose your first dildo

1. Start smaller than you think

4.5–6" with a slim tip is plenty for a first dildo. You can always size up later.

2. Choose body-safe materials

Silicone and glass are non-porous and easy to clean. Avoid unlabelled "jelly" toys that may contain phthalates.

3. Pick a base

A suction cup gives you hands-free play, and a flared base is a must for anal use or a harness.

4. Use plenty of lube

Use water-based lube with silicone dildos. Glass works with any lube.
