Our second Pink Womxn of Substance, Christine Looi, talks about financial freedom, women empowerment, and sisterhood. Read her interview below.
1. Tell us more about what you do
I am the founder of NuRenSC, a community for women. I hope to create a space for women from all walks of life to come together, to share their struggles, and getting the right help in this community.
I have a platform to help women and partners grow their businesses and marketing content to generate more sales leads for them.
2. Why do you do what you do?
Too often, when we see strong, successful women, we fixate on their power, on their confidence, on their self-assurance. What we do not see is that behind that fierce veneer is a human being with her own share of struggles, failures, and vulnerabilities. This is where 女人 Secret Club (NRSC) comes in. We want to create a sisterhood of like-minded, strong women-on-the-go who rise together by lifting each other.
3. How did you get started?
I am a divorcee with 3 kids, retrenched from a high-paying job, who then faced financial instability and eventually lost hope.
With a proper mindset, accepting help, and acknowledging that change needs to be done to move on with life, I overcame MY problems. Since then, I have been inspired to create a community to help support and empower women to grow not just physically but emotionally. And has then also become a strong advocate in the parenting and charity community.
4. What messages do you have for fellow women out there?
NRSC can help women to have financial freedom through their platforms. Empowering women, creating opportunities, and building connection is the main mission I want to develop in this community.
Be the change you want to do. Love yourself then you will be love. Self-care = Self-love
5. What messages do you have for fellow womxn regarding their sexuality?
- Never be ashamed of your body or looks.
- Be sexy, confident, and know that you are special in your own way.
- If you feel anxious, say so. Opening up about your concerns might help you start the conversation.
6. What do you think of sexual wellness products?
It helps release tension and it’s a quick getaway in satisfying oneself easily and can be better than men However, it can achieve a satisfying sex life if you have open and candid communication with your partner.7. Do you have a favourite sex toy?
I personally like ROMP Flip, long, huge, and easy to grip and handle. Blindfolds and Cuffs add on some spice in the bedroom.
8. What do you wish you knew about sex and sexuality growing up?
Education. Back then, people felt sex is a dark secret. Everyone would shy always or label women as slut and men as a bastard for having sex and relationship turns bad. Musturbation is a disgrace and nobody should know, else, you might be label as ‘pervert’ or ‘bitch’.
Now, it is so much open and Thanks to all the sexual wellness we have here in Singapore.
9. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I want to live a life in my dream, things I will foresee in 10 years might not happen but I live for the future. Being happy and healthy is what I see myself in 10 years and having a great community globally to support more women.
